Between the Sheets: Amanda Palmer
Aug. 8th, 2019 12:39 amI talked a few months ago in a New Music Friday post about getting to see Amanda Palmer in concert for the first time. It was such a special night to me. She is an amazing storyteller and in the show she's currently doing she's just baring her soul more than she ever has in her songs. Having been dealing with my own body issues this year and going through some rough moments, listening to her talk about motherhood and abortion and death, was just really meaningful for me. In that show she also addresses a lot of the things she's gotten shit in the media about it the past and it was so interesting to hear her speak to them in a way that was messy and emotional and honest.
Monday night the Critical Role crew put up a new episode of their storyteller interview show, Between the Sheets with Amanda Palmer. I was in tears at a few points (as were Amanda and Brian) because I was remembering the stories and how I felt at her show. I loved this interview, I love to listen to her talk about art and being an artist. It went up on YouTube today and I highly recommend it for a watch. I wish her show could be something shareable with a crowd, on Netflix or YouTube or something available outside a concert. Not that the concert itself isn't amazing, but I wish more people could experience it.
Highly recommend this interview, even if you don't know anything about either of these people, it's worth a watch.
