It's a week to Christmas and I'm finally ready to fill in this last week with all the Christmas movies I've been putting off. (I don't really hate Christmas music or anything, I just come to it in my own time every year. Some years is later than others. And as I've still been working on my novel for futurescapes classes next month, I've still been leaning on my nano playlist. Anyway, I think I'm ready for it now, so I'm compiling them below. (With a few others as non-Christmasy fun, below the videos. I've made the humogous leap from regular horror movies, to Christmas themed ones, so obviously, I'm into the season. (A half-truth, I've watched some sad but not horror Christmas movies too. I'm not ready for the cheery, lovely ones quite yet. Catch me on those Christmas day.)

Here we have your Christmas staple, "Last Christmas" but with a metal twist from Lauren Babic and friends. I think it's a really fun spin on the song. Lauren also covered another modern staple, "All I Want for Christmas is You" here (I know people have very mixed feelings about these two songs, but I happen to love them. Even in their normal state.)

Probably my favorite so far is this "Carol of the Spells" from Ginny Di, who is known for a number of things, but she always does these really excellent takes on D&D in her Christmas videos and this year is no different. I'm pretty impressed with the way she's put a bunch of D&D spells together to match the rhyme and cadence of Carol of the Bells. I think you'll enjoy it and the way she's done the video, even if you don't know all the spells she's mentioning.

I'm still new to The Hound + The Fox, but I really love their style. Their Addams family song near Halloween was perfect, and I was very pleasantly surprised to see them cover this song, "Grown-up Christmas List". I know that this song isn't for everyone, it's a very 'love and kindness heals the world' kind of aesthetics, but I've always loved the sound of it. (I used to listen to the Amy Grant Christmas album with this song every year.) This acoustic cover is a really nice tribute to the original.

More Christmas Songs
Jonathan Young - All I Want for Christmas is You (metal cover) - This is an oldie but a goodie.
Sihasin - Winter Wonderland Sihasin is a Navajo punk band, so this is kind of a wild, stripped down take on the song
Halocene - Carol of the Bells (metal cover w/Sershen & Zarítskaya)
Dee Snider & Lzzy Hale - The Magic of Christmas Day what a power duo

If you still want something other than Christmas songs, I've got a few of those too:
WAP (Well-Armed Peasants) - THE VIDEO a fun take on the bardcore version of this song. Fun and well done.
Denis Pauna - Rooster but what if it was sung by Type O Negative
Autumn Orange - Good Riddance (Hades Lofi Hip Hop feat. Chris & Violet Trevino) for you Hades fans
Fleshgod Apocalypse - No this is brand spanking music for you black metal fans (but with honest to god Britney lyrics)
