THIS WOMAN'S SULTRY VOICE is just so silky smooth and wonderful. This is Yseult for Colours with three songs “BAD BOY”, “INDELEBILE” and “CORPS”. She's French, so I don't understand most of what she's saying, but it really doesn't matter because there's so much emotion in what she's singing and we're just along for the ride. Also the way they shot these performances is just wonderful. I love the sets and the color choices and it's just beautiful from top to bottom.

I'd love hear about it -- if it's an artist, maybe your favorite song from them? [My wrapped was heavily influenced by my Nanowrimo playlist so my top band was Dance with the Dead and my top song was "Infinite Orbit" by Explosions in the Sky.]

Also for those of you who really like these posts (I love you so much for enjoying these) I'm thinking about some kind of musical end of year meme/list of questions. So if you have questions you'd like to ask me about music, I'd love to collect them and make a post dedicated to answering them.

My Spotify Wrapped equivalent (I use Tidal) is kind of hilarious. It's all Oasis and Oasis-adjacent in the first five slots, for artists, albums, AND songs, except for Billie Eilish.

Top Oasis-related song was "One of Us" by Liam Gallagher, about his relationship with his brother. Top non-Oasis song was Billie's everything i wanted... about her relationship with her brother. 😂 I didn't notice the theme until I typed up this comment.

I did actually listen to a wide variety of other things this year, just not as much, apparently.

I rarely use Spotify, so my Wrapped song list is completely off. There's tracks on there that I listened to only once, or don't know/can't remember ever listening to.

For the end of year questions:
What are some of your earliest favourite songs that you can remember? As in, no children's songs, but the first forays into pop/rock/whatever.
Which genre do you have a lot of respect for but just can't get into, or want to like but it doesn't click?
Has there ever been a song (or songs, plural) that creeped you out so that you refused to listen to it, maybe for years, maybe still?

Yeah I don't use Spotify super often but I do use Last.fm to see my listening habits across all my platforms. I got the same top song there as from Spotify though, since I was listening to the same playlist so heavily during November.

I'm way too used to the way I listen to music to get into using Spotify... everything gets scrobbled, so it's all on last.fm... but last.fm doesn't give the last.year report until the very end of the year.

Yeah I don't use Spotify all the time (I don't pay for an account because I already have YT premium) but all my stuff scrobbles to last.fm regardless the platform. I did look up my YTD top song which matched the one Spotify gave me, which I think is really just the result of my playlist during November while I was writing.

Your music post helped me through the morning. That all woman metal band is cool. It was slow starting out and then I liked it. :)
