I know it's hard right now with the pandemic, but I'm still excited for Halloween. I had today off, I've already got Matt's presents ready to go for his Halloween birthday, even if we won't get trick-or-treaters. We've also decided on our fancy dinner for our anniversary on Sunday and will still have Monday off to do whole lots of nothing.

Okay, so I said earlier this week that I planned spooky songs for this week and I aim to deliver on that. Although I'll admit that "spooky" here is real subjective, so I'm just aiming for songs that are either associated with the Halloween holiday or are generally associated with horror themed things. Hopefully that makes sense and you'll get what I mean when you see the songs.

First up is this excellent cover of "Thriller" by Lauren Babic. She's got the voice, some spooky makeup and a hard rock version of this Halloween classic. Definitely worth a listen.

This was a new one for me, Chez Kane. But I really love this cover of "Cry Little Sister", the song known from the old Lost Boys movie (one of my favorites and the the one I've put on my 199x Vampire playlist.

Lastly for the videos is this new Two Minutes to Late Night cover of "Dead Man's Party" with members of Dethklok and Protest the Hero. I really love these covers, they always get some of the best metal musicians together.

And some honorable mentions for this week:

And then one last one which is not necessarily with the spooks, but it's a cover of a Typo O Negative song and that deserves some recognition. Violet Orlandi with "My Girlfriend's Girlfriend".

And if you like that cover from FamilyJules, check out some of their covers of the soundtrack from the new Hades game that everyone's playing right now.

What have you all been listening to this week? Any spooky stuff?

The "Cry Little Sister" cover is AMAZING. Very haunting. She has incredible control of her voice.

Yay fellow metalhead! \m/ \m/

These are so cool! Thank you for sharing them.

My Halloween playlist is full up on Lordi and various covers of 'This Is Halloween' and 'Come Little Children'. I'm very predictable.

Why is "Cry Little Sister" a song I used to listen to? Weird. I didn't even watch The Lost Boys.

I used to listen to Protest the Hero too.

That's an epic "Psycho Killer." :)

Yeah, that's what I thought. And he sounds like Trent Reznor so maybe I'm remembering the NIN songs I got from Napster.
