Happy Friday everyone! This week has been all over the place for me. I am tired and ready for the weekend to start. I've got a long day of work ahead of me though, I've been doing some Coursera classes for work and they are not the most invigorating experience ever. But I'll take all the free training I can get.

Here's what I've been collecting and listening to this week -- but I might have to follow up again tomorrow with some more curated spooky options since just this morning I've already found several more fun covers to share. :D

Ooh and a big thank you to those of you who shared some good sci-fi-ish music with me last week, it's much appreciated. If you have other recommendations I'm still happy to add to my playlist. When I get it together next week I'll post it up on Spotify to share with everyone too so if sci-fi electronica is your thing you can give it a listen too.

Anyway, on to this week's music:

First up is Finneas' performance for #SOSFEST, Live from Teragram Ballroom. This set includes the first Finneas song I ever heard, "Break My Heart Again". I feel so deeply in love with that song from a random algorithm treat YT provided long before I knew Billie had a brother she wrote her music with. In fact when I learned how to make gifs, I went back and made gifs of that video (on tumblr here if that's your thing. Hearing it like this as a live performance from him is really lovely. The other songs here are good too. :D

If there's another performance from last weekend's Save our Stages fest on my list, which is this one from Leon Bridges. But there's a ton of other performances from this so I'm sure that if you're interested in seeing who else performed, the magical algorithm will send them your way.

On Monday, dodie released a brand new song along with the announcement that her first full album is coming out next March. I'm excited to hear that the album will be full of new songs and not just rehashing songs from her previous EPs or from her YT channel -- though it'll be double-sided as well with songs she wrote specifically for her YT channel in April of this year that have been redone with full production and in addition to the album itself. This first song, "Cool Girl" has a pretty standard dodie sound, but I think shows off some of her growth too, so if it's more like this, I'll be happy.

Lastly, I'm included this brand new song from Vintage Trouble. I've seen hints that they've got a new album coming out soon. I'm very excited about this. If you're a fan of that old school R&B style - the soul/rock combo, then please check out Vintage Trouble. They're so good. And Ty's voice is just amazing.

Free bonus cover this week from the Melodicka Bros and guest starring Addie from Halocene -- an upbeat, almost happy version of Blink 182's "I Miss You. These guys love changing up the vibe of a song with their covers, they did a Jazz Noir version of Evanescence's "Bring Me to Life" a week or two ago that was also very good.

WAIT! One more bonus, for spooky season. Check out this wonderful, waltzy original song inspired by Morticia & Gomez Addams, "Rot Next to You" by The Hound + the Fox. I ADORE this whole thing, the song, the snaps, the video aesthetic. It's lovely.

"I hope when I die / You’ll barely survive it / And I’ll rot next to you."

I hope you all have had a good week, a better week than me hopefully. And if you've been listening to anything this week, or discovered something new, as always I'd love to hear about it.
