Listen to this adorable human and his beautiful new song. Ben Platt, famous for Pitch Perfect and Dear Evan Hanson is putting out an album out of his own songs and boy this first single is just lovely. It gives me kind of an old school vibe, a little Billy Joel or Paul McCartney mixed with a little gospel and a smidge of musical resonance. It's good.

I know I recommended a song from dodie's new EP two weeks ago, but here she is again. This time she stepped in with Pomplamoose on a compilation of breakup songs which includes "Since You've Been Gone", "Stay", "Someone I Used to Know" and "Thank U, Next". I'm not a huge fan of Pomplamoose but I have enjoyed almost every single one of these little compilations they've done with a guest. It's a good time.

Emily King is still pretty new to me but I'm in love. She's got this 90s vibe, a little Whitney, a little Janet mixed with a little Bonnie Raitt and I am all for it. Check out this song "Can't Hold Me" off her brand spanking new album, out today. This is last night's performance from the Jimmy Kimmel show. I also really dig her suited style.

Just one bonus video this week. Check out Chase Holfelder's cover of "Shallow" on this toy piano. Chase does amazing covers, you might have seen one or two of his minor key covers before. Sometimes he does kids toy or toy piano covers and they're usually just as great. This song is so delicate and light with Chase's voice and this high piano. It's very nice.
