It's been raining and cold here the last two days and I've been struggling bad with a migraine for the third day this week. I'm on a new migraine med and I'm not sure if that's helping or hurting yet but I'm definitely struggling this week with pain, fatigue and concentration. It's made it difficult to watch or listen to much because I just can't concentrate or watch effectively that actually helps me enjoy it. But I did save a few songs and find one new one today that is making me happy.

I've also listened a couple of times through the new Nightwish album, HUMAN. :||: NATURE., which I've quite enjoyed when the head has allowed. There is also a new Fiona Apple album out today, Fetch the Bolt Cutters.

I did try to listen to the new Jamie xx song today, and was so disappointed. I didn't like it at all. I don't know if anyone else here is a fan of The xx or Jamie's work, but if you are have you listened to the new song? I wonder if it's just me.

The songs I do have this week have pretty basic videos... or the first two just the songs over static images, and the third isn't static, but it's simple a lyric video. Sometimes that's just the way it is.

First up is this lovely song from Ewan J. Phillips which features Carrie Hope Fletcher. This is slow and heartbreaking in a lovely way that makes me remember when I could just be sad about how love stories make me feel instead of *gestures vaguely* you know, at everything.

In a lovely surprise turn, there was a new Florence + the Machine song out today, "Light of Love". I'm having thoughts about this song that haven't fully loaded yet. But it's definitely pretty and in a style that I've come to both expect and love from her. It is difficult to imagine the time I really disliked any of her work at this point.

The last is a lyric video for Kaleo's new song, "Backbone". One of the bands I'm bummed about missing a live show for this spring/early summer is Kaleo. It was going to be such a good line-up for the whole show but I hadn't seen them live yet and all the stuff their releasing for this next album is SO GOOD.

What about you? What have you been listening to today, this week, anything that's making you feel good music-wise? Let me know.

Haven't really found anything new. Instead I've revisited Single Lash - Recurring Dream and by accident found Bell Hollow's 2005 demo album online, which I used to listen to a lot when it was still fresh. (Can't believe it's been 15 years!) Beautiful shoegaze/pop, although I remember ordering their album and feeling disappointed because the mix was different, all the edges were smoothed over and it didn't evoke the same feelings.
As for "feeling good", I find that Balduin feat. Sue - Mister Mister chases away clouds effortlessly.

Somewhat related: I think this weekend I'm going to pick up where I left off regarding the digitization of my music collection. There's still many albums to go...

Girls Will be Boys and Boys Will be Girls were on my dash last night. Slowly checking them out, as they are covers where pronouns were not flipped.

I already had a couple of these I loved (Joan Jett rarely, if ever, flips pronouns, for instance).

Not a new release, but I'm currently listening to Françoise Hardy's 2018 album Personne d'autre. I am not a big fan of the production style (too much echo) but it's interesting to hear her reading of these songs from different songwriters. I've only ever listened to her '60s hits before.

First time listening to anything by Kaleo; it's fantastic.
