New Music Friday

singedsunWelcome to Friday, friends. I'm EXHAUSTED, I napped as soon as I came home from visiting my dad in the hospital today and I'm still tired. The weather is supposed to be bad here all weekend so the hospital might not send him home until Monday. But he is doing much better, health-wise. Today was my last day off with him, I have three days bereavement leave, so I need to go back on Monday. I think everything's handled for grandpa now anyway, just some pieces of paper left to sign and none of that's on me after today.
Anyway. On to some happy things.
One of the things that's been getting me through this week is most definitely music in the car to and from the hospital this week. I've fallen in absolute love with this cover from Scary Pockets, featuring the incredibly voice of Rozzi (whom I love). I've never really had a thing for this song before, but something about this funky arrangement and Rozzi's voice is just really making it a real treat for me. I've listened to it I don't even know how many times this week. So, enjoy.
This next one you don't need the video for except to listen to this new beautiful John Legend song. I LOVE John's voice. I will say that the chords at the beginning of this song are really reminiscent of a lot of songs from last year but that doesn't make it any less beautiful. There's an exact song that it calls to mind and I'm trying hard to think of it, so if I can conjure that memory, I'll share it. Either way, I think it's a lovely love song.
Last for the video portion is a completely shameless advertisement for the next season of the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, for Netflix. This is a really nicely done video with lots of teases for the next season and great satanic imagery that ties into the story so far. (Anyone else thing the Devil looks a bit like a young James Marsten with his normal dirty blonde hair? NO? Just me?) Anyway. I really enjoyed this.

- They put out a new video today for 'The Chain' cover by Evanescence that was done for Gears 5 last year. If you haven't heard their cover yet, it's worth a list. Though it's definitely a departure from the original and Amy Lee is no Stevie Nicks, no matter how good her voice is. So if your a hardcore Fleetwood fan, maybe it won't be for you... don't know it until you try it though. [YouTube]
- Chase Eagleson - Bloodbank by Bon Iver - If you're the sort of person that likes those mixes with nature sounds with music, you should most definitely give this cover a look. Also, give Chase and his sister major props for standing out next to Lake Erie in sleeting rain to capture this lovely version of the song.
- Another show/movie tie-in with this really fun version of Diamonds by Megan Thee Stallion and Normani. Sort of an old school remix of "Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend" given that in the Birds of Prey movie it looks like Harley will be doing a take on that. I really like this kind of promo version. Not much from the movie, but enough from the kind of badass circusy kind of look we know that's going to based on Harley's image, without her at all stealing focus. [YouTube]
