I had been planning to share this at some point because I've been listening to it again a lot lately, this is as good a place as any. I'm pretty eclectic in my listening habits just depending on what I'm feeling for a day. But I tend to find a happy place when writing in this kind of indie folk or singer-songwriter vibe. I also love the Mahogany channel on YouTube, which is where i found this video. They do recordings with a lot of people that fit that calm vibe I like when writing. Honestly I've found a bunch of artists through their channel over the years. I'm not really a fan of this band however, this song and this particular arrangement are just *chef kiss*
The location, the choral singing, the foot/clap rhythm that kicks in halfway through, it just all comes together in such a perfect way. This particular song is also not really dense in the lyric category but there's a gravity to the purpose of the song that's just really lovely. I'm kind of shocked this song hasn't ever made it on a playlist of mine, but I also feel like I've just been holding back to it for myself because it's this specific version of the song I love SO SO SO much.
