Critmas Exchange 2019

First it'd be weird not to acknowledge a thank you to everyone that commented on my last post about my grandfather. I really appreciate people's kind words. I've got a lot of stuff to deal with in the coming days while my dad is still in the hospital dealing with his own health and yet decisions about my grandpa still need to be made. I will probably write more about him/this in the coming days.

But... as today was reveals day for Critmas, I thought it might be nice to talk about some positive things and post up the stories I wrote and the two WONDERFUL stories I got during the critmas_exchange. This was my first time participating in this exchange but I really like what I wrote -- even coming off of Yuletide, and I'm more than extremely pleased with the two stories I received.

What I Received

My gifts are amazing and I love them. This first one hits several great notes for me because I ADORE the idea of a later-in-life Keyleth/Vex'ahlia pairing. Both of them are powerful women in these high ranking roles and both of them have this deep love for the other, not just through Vax'ildan. And there was always a little low-key flirtatious energy between them, especially early in the game. I love the sort of wild boss babe vibe that Vex gives off in this story, knowing exactly what she wants and Percy letting her take charge.

Secondly, is this wonderful partner swapping kind of story with Vex and Vax and their respective partners. I have long been a supporter of the idea that Percy and Keyleth might have been just as happy if they'd ended up with the other twin as their partner instead of the one they canonically chose. This plays with that and that perhaps the four of them could get up to something even more fun together and I love that even more. A wonderful idea.

What I Wrote

I don't have an specific commentary for these, to be honest. I'm pretty proud of each of them, given the prompts and the timing. I didn't intentionally go into it expecting to center two of the stories within the timeline of the most recent story, that was just the way it worked out. I hope that doesn't keep people from reading them, since while there might be slight spoilers for the episodes in each, I don't think it wrecks anything if you're not caught up.

That said, if people have questions about them or want to know more, I'd be happy to talk more specifically to any of them either individually or as a whole.
