New Music Friday
Sep. 28th, 2019 01:04 amAnother week with just three videos. Due to migraines several days this week, I feel like I spent a lot of time asleep, or in a basic funk. Plus, I think mid-September was really our big rush of releases and it might be a few weeks before we have another big group of new music out.
First up is a lyrics video for a new song from the metal band, Thrice. I feel like this is the same good quality I expect from them, though this specific song might be a bit more on the mild side. I like it and it makes me eager to get a new album from them.
Next is the new song/video from a YT indie singer-songwriter, dodie. I feel like this video is very on par with a lot of indie folk band kind of videos, especially with the lyrical modern dance choreography. I like the song, but there's a little muddiness in the quick lyrics toward the end and it took me a few listens to make some of it out. I think that has to do some with dodie's softer enunciations and I'm pretty used to it in her songs by now.
This is honestly my favorite for this week, it's from one of my favorite YT artists and I've shared his or his sister's stuff a few times now. Chase and Sierra put together an arrangement of Hozier's "Cherry Wine" and "In a Week" which are both such dark songs. The way they're put together here makes the two songs play out like a story, a dark tragedy though given the subject matter. I highly recommend these two, they have amazing voices and do not have enough recognition.
Hope you enjoy one or all of these and let me know if you heard anything new this week worth sharing!
