I was so out of it this week so this post is a day behind because I needed some more time to catch up on music for this week. Because I wasn't as on top of things this week, due to a variety of things you can read in my flocked post prior to this one, I don't have as many recommends as usual.

Let me also say, I know the new Lana del Ray album came out last week and I DID listen to it, but I honestly didn't care for it. So like if you like her, maybe that's a thing you want to look up but it's not for me.

First, let me recommend an album that I know came out like a month ago but there's been so much going on I completely forgot to link to this one. This is a bandcamp link from a little band called Lost Lander whom I find pretty wholesome really. You can listen to their new album Aberdeen there on bandcamp, and if you like it, consider supporting them by buying it there (or wherever your music of choice is sold). I think more people should be listening to them for sure. If you like that true indie folk sound like Oh Wonder, Hey Marseilles or Wye Oak, you'll probably like them.

If you don't know any of those bands I mentioned above, well let me introduce you to Oh Wonder's new song, "Halellujah". They did this cool one-take video for this new song. It's fun and upbeat and I really like the colors and choreography for the video too.

I know I had a Postmodern Jukebox recommendation last week too, but I'm just so in love with this week's cover. I am not a U2 fan, but I've always had a soft spot for this song and man this singer blows this song out of the water. It's so well done, his vocals are amazing and he's just a fun performer to watch too. One of the things I love about Scott Bradlee is that he manages to pick some of the most engaging performers to sing with PMJ. He makes it so much about the song and the vocalist and so little about himself, people barely remember that it used to be called, Scott Bradlee's Postmodern Jukebox. I think this video is a good indication of what a talent he has for picking the right performer for the right song.

I've most definitely recommended Orla Gartland's music before. She's been putting a lot of great content on her Patreon recently, and I was really excited to hear this new song of hers. I wish that she was touring somewhere near me, I'd so love to see her and dodie in concert together. Anyway, this isn't a real video, video, but it's a small animation to go with the song. The song is a real bop and I hope it takes off.

Just a couple of links on stuff that's not new, new, but worth sharing.
  • Halestorm - Black Vultures This song isn't new, but they uploaded an acoustic recording to their YouTube channel where Lzzy talks a bit about the origin of the song and it's so good. Plus, this song is a powerful one for me, because it's so much about not letting the bad things pick at you and standing up for yourself. I love it.
  • Emile Sande - You Are Not Alone Another good powerful song about your feelings being valid, and not feeling isolated in feeling down on yourself. Someone out there is going through it too.
  • Billie Eilish - all the good girls go to hell Talk about statement pieces, this video is just such a badass vibe I love it. If you want to feel powerful about yourself, these three videos are the place to start.

I've finished some new shows this week too, so maybe if I can feel up to it later, I'll talk about finishing off The Handmaid's Tale season three, and watching the first season of Carnival Row.
