New Music Friday
Sep. 5th, 2020 01:47 amI broke a 25 day streak with no migraines on the new meds. As much as I was in pain today while trying to work, I'm 100% still considering this a win for the new meds. That's the longest I've gone in a really, really long time without a migraine. I'm hoping I can enjoy this three day weekend by sleeping in and taking it easy.
Oh! Plus, Matt finished securing the last two bookcases downstairs. So at some point this weekend I'll get to hang out down there and arrange books to my liking without any doublestacked shelves. I'm really excited about that. Maybe I'll take some pictures once we're all done.
New in music this week, check out this amazing cover of Enter Shikari's "Sorry, You're Not a Winner" by three really amazing metal singers: K Enagonio, Lauren Babic and Christina Rontondo. I've posted something from Lauren before, because her covers are just so good. If you like this one you can follow the links in the video description to the other two covers they released on Lauren & Christina's channels which has a Volumes cover and an Underoath cover. All three are great, but I picked this one because K the Screamer is new to me & this one best showcases their voice.
Then you know I have to post the new song/video from FINNEAS, "What They'll Say About Us". I know he's an amazing producer with the work he's done both for Billie's songs and on songs for other people. But his song stylings are so different even from Billie's, which I think is pretty cool considering how closely they work together on her music. Also, Finneas wrote this song and dedicated it to people who have been lost to COVID.
This isn't a new song, but I really love to see her perform like this. Miley Cyrus did three songs at the BBCRadio1 Live Lounge and I do like this version of "Midnight Sky". I know her voice isn't for everyone but I love me a husky voiced singer. She's got power and emotion in her songs and to me it's always striking to watch her sing.
Oh man, I just realized that I missed the window to buy the Two Minutes to Late Night EP that came out this week. UGH. They only release them on their BandCamp for like 12 hours or something ridiculously short. I meant to do it and missed it. It had the cover of Type O's "Be My Druidess" and I'm going to have to track that down another way now. Or hope they open it up again later.
What about you all? What have you been listening to this week?
