This week feels like a blur with the holiday last weekend and the couple of vacation days I took so we could spend some more time with the boys. They went to their Aunt's house for the night Friday and hung out all day Saturday with their cousins. I thought I'd get a bunch done while they were out... but no.

But let's talk music. I started this post early in the day on Friday because I saw this video linked from Paste magazine and was surprised to see something new from The Flaming Lips. Obviously, I didn't get further than this in the rest of the day though. Anyway. I've never been a huge fan of The Flaming Lips, but I do like this song.

You might have seen these around, these baroque cover versions of popular songs. I know I've seen several of them around. It's amazing how well some of these songs translate. And I love that it's not just the music they change, but the lyrics are always just slightly adjusted to make it fit.

This one is a cover too, a really amazing metal Phantom cover from Cristina Vee feat. Jonathan Young. Jonathan Young is known on YT for his amazing Disney and anime metal cover songs, so he was a perfect choice to collaborate with Cristina on this song. And since thing are as they are right now, without being to collaborate with him in person, Cristina uses her adorable cat in his place. Love it.
