singedsun: the gravedigger from repo! the genetic opera holding up a blue vial (gravedigger)
We just got back from seeing Birds of Prey a little while ago. Overall though, a fun, punchy movie where all the women are pretty badass. AND in line with today's post, it's got AMAZING music. You know I'm a sucker for a cover song and this soundtrack has them in spades. So like, check that shit out. [Spotify] If you go to see this, watch carefully how each of the ladies fight. They're taught to fight in a way that very indicative of the way smaller women with less body mass to throw around should be fighting, it's all legs, leverage and body weight. Pretty impressive. Since this is a post-Joker movie, I'm hoping Margot Robbie's got a Harley/Ivy movie up her sleeve if this one does well enough to get a third movie for Harley. (Please please.)

But there's some other new stuff this week to share with you all.

We got a new Nightwish song today, "Noise". I don't know what's happening in this video, but honestly the video is neither here nor there. The music is just exactly what we've come to this version of NIghtwish. It's good dark orchestral metal music done just like do it.

Next up is the new song from Neoni, "Gold". I really like these videos we're getting from them these days, much as I miss the old covers they used to post. I am definitely looking forward to an album when it finally comes out.

And then there is the queen, Christine and the Queens hitting us with this emotional new song, "People, I've Been Sad". As soon as I saw it, I sent it to my friends who also love Christine, because like "Yeah, Christine, me too." BIG MOOD.

Two honorable mentions this week:
