New Music Friday
Jan. 24th, 2020 12:19 amA little early, because I'm anticipating a snow day tomorrow. So you're getting this a whole (day/night) before I'd normally sit down to do it.
The new Breaking Benjamin album is out today, which I'm thrilled to listen to. In celebration there's a new video out for "Far Away" featuring Scooter Ward of the band Cold, which have only just returned to what used to be called the nuMetal scene in the last few months with an album of their own. I think I mentioned this, but my friend and I were able to see Cold in concert after their recent album launch last fall and it was SO NICE to see them perform again.
I'm really enjoy the new Breaking Benjamin stuff, but I really like that they brought Scooter in to perform this with Ben. Very nice.
We'll get the super obvious rec out of the way too. Everyone's going out of their minds for the new In This Moment "The In Between", including myself. I listened to it WAY too much at work yesterday. Like all day, whenever I got the chance, it's so good. And the video is lovely. Maria is a freaking goddess and I cannot wait to see them in March.
Why don't we finish this threesome out with another metal band. There's a new Nothing More song out called "Mr. MTV" which samples "Money for Nothing" from Dire Straits. It's good, and the hook back to the original is minimal, they've managed to take that sample and make this their own thing.
