Figuring out what to post this week is a struggle because there's a bunch of stuff I've been listening to, and it's almost all new-ish. But I also don't want to bog anyone's flist down with a bunch of video links, I like keeping it to three videos. So I'm going to do like the top three and then just include links to some others, just in case you need something else either by the same artist or maybe completely different.

ETA: THIS IS A LOT OF MUSIC. I apologize for nothing.

First up is the song "Armor" by Sara Bareilles. The song is a month or so older, but this video is brand new and I really like it. Sara's become a go to for me when I need something I can listen to just on an endless loop. I love all her stuff and her voice is just heavenly. Her songs so often lead to themes of independence and empowerment and I love that this one is about celebrating the women around you too.

I'm shocking even myself with this next song and I'm going to be real honest, it's less about the song and more about this specific video and the themes in Ari's latest album. The transition in the last several months in Ariana Grande's music, has been subtle if you're just listening to the radio but I've gotta say these videos and the lyrics are speaking to me in a real old Independent Woman, a la Destiny's Child kind of way. If strong pop isn't your vibe, I FEEL YOU. But if you get a kick out of musical themes and career shifts like I do, maybe give Ariana's music another try.

Why I like this song and video specifically? Ariana's videos are thematic to an intense degree, they're packed with meaning, even if the lyrics seem surfacy. Depending on how you read this one, there's either a) some real threesome vibes about to happen or b) this video continues a trend of some real self-love kind of vibes that has been popping up in the last several singles (and just all over the album that dropped today). I dig it.

Oh man, picking out the third is rough but I'm going to go with "Why Am I Like This?" by Orla Gartland. Orla is a you YouTube musician I adore because her songs and style are so unique. She's got this great voice, plays myriad instruments and is great at hitting a real specific vibe about anxiety, love, and longing. This video is just the song, not so much a music video. Although it does have a bit of fun with itself, as Orla is often wont to do. Check it out.

Okay, a few links now with less posturing from me.
Two songs featuring Alessia Cara so if you like her, these two are definitely your kind of thing.
"Let Me Down Slowly" by Alec Benjamin (feat. Alessia Cara)
A cover of Whitney Houston's "I Wanna Dance with Somebody" by Scott Helman x Alessia Cara

A new cover song by Gerard Way and Ray Toro for the Umbrella Academy series, "Happy Together". Which is making me feel like the series is going to have more of these on the way.

If you like Country music, Maren Morris, or Brandi Carlile maybe check out Maren's new song, "Common"

Lastly, let me throw just one more cover song at you. This is a very distinct departure from everything up above so let me say if you don't like metal or industrial music, this might not be for you. But! If you like 80's music, maybe check out Front Line Assembly's cover of "Rock Me Amadeus" anyway?
