Self-Recs

This is a rough one for me. I'm proud of some stories I've co-written but they were a long time ago and I'm not sure quite how I feel about them anymore in a way that makes me super proud about reccing them. I'm not really sure what that says about me to be honest. So I'm going to reach on some of these.

One thing I've always been proud of is my fanmixing abilities. MANY years ago now I created what is still one of my very favorite fanmixes as part of the old LJ AU Big Bang challenge. It was a Henry VI story but told during WWI. The fic itself contains a number of waltzes and I really, really wanted to go with that as part of the theme when creating my mix. This mix is so old the only location I have for it is a .zip file I'm still hosting on my website. But if people are interested, I could work on putting it elsewhere.

For reference, the story is Delirien by lareinenoire. The songs are almost all dramatic piano or violin pieces and a few waltzes, though not your traditional kind. There's also a few bonus songs that felt appropriate but didn't quite fit into the mood I was creating at the time. I'll put the songs and the link below the cut.

For fic, I want to recommend a piece I did for Yuletide a few years back for the game Life is Strange. This was just after the first game was complete, so there are spoilers for that but not for any of the later games. It is a Second Person POV which I know not a lot of people like but I feel like it works really well for games like this one. It's also a bit of a five times fic, since time is myriad things in the game so anything could be canon or AU.

I want to cheat a little and rec the only two first season of CR fics I've written, because they're both small and they're both Percy/Vex. But I felt like I got into the fandom so late in the game that they never really had a chance. I was watching CR since almost the very beginning but I took an extensive break in the middle and then it was almost the very end of season one that I felt like dipping my toe into fandom at all. But I had these two small moments that never became anything big but felt really emotionally significant for me.

Obligation which has spoilers for episode 57: Duskmeadow and is really just about how Vex deals with Guilt. And then as a dual side for this ship is What It Feels Like which is after Percy/Vex are established and what it's like in the small quiet moments they're alone.

One last little cheaty thing I'll throw in since I'm down here in my Percy/Vex hole here is this fanmix I put together for them based pretty much all around the John Legend song, Surefire. I love it so very much. Right now it's only up on Playmoss here. I think I had it up on Tumblr, but you know that got taken down by the nipple police - despite it have nothing to do with anything. I'll have to put it somewhere better soon.
