New Music Friday
If you've liked the Two Minutes to Late Night metal covers, go quick as you can (RIGHT NOW) to their Bandcamp and buy the new cover album. They only ever keep these albums up for about 24 hours for sale, so if you don't grab it today, it's gone.
I'm FINALLY headed out this weekend with my BFF for a short lake cabin getaway. We've been very careful about staying healthy and safe in the last month so we could do this. And our cabin is set far back from the trails and on the end side of the lake where we'll be all alone and not have to be in contact with anyone. I'm so ready to do this. I feel like a little kid who is finally getting to spend the night at a friends house or something. I know I've talked about it before, I miss my friend so much. I haven't seen her since March so while these weekend will be short, it's going to be so nice. We've planned to do some crafty things during our getaway too, hopefully I'll have something to show for it when I get back.
Anyway. I do have a few songs for this week. If you've been missing non-metal genres of music in my last several New Music Friday posts, this is the post for you.
First up is this Colours show with WOODKID and his song, "Horizons into Battlegrounds". I love his voice, and this song really shows it off. I love it. If you've only ever heard his song, "Run Boy Run" that was so popular a few years ago, maybe try giving this a listen to see what else he does.
I did not know that Jason Isbell & Amanda Shires were married, but they have an NPR Tiny Desk (Home) Concert this week I think in their home, whatever it is the space is beautiful. I love Jason's voice and Amanda's violin is such a great addition to his songs. I don't listen to a lot of country, but I always like listening to Jason's stuff.
I've posted a lot of Chase Eagleson covers in my New Music Friday posts, and more often than not they feature his sister, Sierra. But on her own YT Channel she (infrequently) posts music too, although it's usually her own original songs. I really love the low tones in her voice, I love her new short hair, and I love the kind of calm sadness in this song "Midnight Hour".
I hope you all have had as good of a week as you can manage in these strange times. If you've been listening to music that you want to share, please do! I always like to see what you're enjoying too.
